Révolution des oeillets

Pour notre sixième journée à Lisbonne, cette journée étant fériée parce que c'est l'anniversaire de la Révolution des Oeillets, notre programme fut modifié. De ce fait, au lieu de passer une journée avec les élèves de Dordogne et de Lisbonne, nous nous sommes rendus sur la place de Restoradores où nous avons écouté la Grandola, le chant de ralliement qui a lancé la Révolution des Oeillets le 25 avril 1974. Ensuite, nous nous sommes rendus sur la Place du Commerce où nous avons pris un bateau pour effectuer une excursion maritime de deux heures sur le Taje afin de découvrir la ville de Lisbonne d'un autre point de vue. Durant cette navigation, nous sommes d'abord passés sous le Pont du 25 Avril, puis nous avons pu apercevoir le quartier de Belém, notamment le Monastère des Hiéronymites que nous avions exploré lors d'une précédente journée. De là, nous avons repéré la célèbre statue du Christ Roi (Cristo Rei) qui ressemble trait pour trait à celle de Rio De Janeiro ; le Christ Rédempteur (Cristo Redentor). Désormais, nous nous apprêtons à nous mêler à la foule durant notre quartier libre, pour nous imprégner de Lisbonne et son opulence culturelle.

Game of Lisbon

In this fifth day at Lisbon, we started the day by taking a small breakfast at 6:30 am even when we woke up tired from sleeping late due to a classmate, Emmanuel, celebrating his 18th birthday. Then, after getting ready by 7 am we went to the subway to head towards Teilhadas to get to the Deutch School. We joined the French and German students who were distant at first but really friendly eventually. We got to approach them and we stayed together from 8 AM to around noon. After that we walked to the big park near the university and then we started to get to know each other. We had to break the ice, how ? First of all, we did activities like play games in the freezing weather of Lisboa ; we exchanged our names while playing with a volley ball, and the Portuguese students gave us notebooks and a Trivia Quiz with it, like "What were our feelings about Lisboa ?" or "What typical food from Lisboa did we eat ?" and etc... Then after this long morning, we hopped in the subway to Rossio station surrounding the center of the "Old town" . But we had a small problem ; a French student got uncomfortable because of her claustrophobia but fortunately the Portuguese students were there to help. And we started a rally in the old town with a limit time to 3:15 pm. In this rally we had to approach strangers to take pictures of them with their phones, ask them to read a sentence in french, ask for their favorite football team or visit some specific places in the "Old town". It was a great time because it felt like a race against time so everyone was in a rush to get their own tasks done in time. So, to conclude this day, let's celebrate Emmanuel's and Nnieka's birthday, happy birthday to you :)

Modern arts in Lisbon

Our wonderful day discovering art !
The weather was good which allowed us to fully enjoy our day. We got the opportunity to share this adventure with the students of a French school of Terrasson (Dordogne) that we met up with at the German School of Lisboa. We then took the subway together heading to our first visit.

We started by visiting the Bansky museum. Banksy is a street artist known for remaining anonymous.
Through his work, he often criticizes society, politics, capitalism and inequalities.
His motivations are based on making people think, provoking reactions, and making art accessible to everyone outside of traditional places.
Therefore, this museum is dedicated to his art. We were lucky to have a english-speaking tour guide to lead us through the art pieces such as graffitis, sculptures and incorporating objects in his art. A great exemple would be his representation of domestic violence where he uses a fridge.

Around noon we had lunch with the other students in the garden of The Foundation Calouste Gulbekion. At this occasion we saw ducks and pigeons.
We then proceeded to our second visit of the day. We went to the Modern Art museum Gulbekian, a museum that specializes in modern arts. We got to see an amazing art gallery that was inspired by the arabian nights. Each art piece tells multiple stories.

Finally, we got some time for ourselves and decided to spend that time with the students from the other school.

Modern arts in Lisbon

Our wonderful day discovering art !

Around noon, we had lunch with the other students in the garden of "The foundation of Gulbenkian", at this occasion we saw ducks and pigeons. It almost sounds very exotic !
We then proceeded to our second visit of the day. We went to the Gulbenkian museum.
This museum was quite different from the one we had visited earlier. Indeed, it is a Museum of Modern Art. We were lucky enough to see amazing paintings centered on the main theme : Scheherazade. The guide explained that all the paintings in the collection told stories within the main story, like Russian nesting dolls, you know ! Just as Scheherazade did with her husband, the king, to avoid being executed in the morning. It was truly fascinating !
Then, we had some free time, which we decided to spend with our new friends from Dordogne. It was incredibly fun !
We really appreciated this day—the visits, the discoveries, and the messages conveyed through this superb art.

une journeé inoubliable à Belém

Réveil à 7h pour commencer la journée avec énergie ! Après avoir pris le métro, nous avons retrouvé un autre groupe d'élèves français devant l'école allemande (Notre école partenaire du voyage) à Lisbonne . L'ambiance était déjà très sympa.

Nous avons ensuite pris le bus pour aller à Belém, où nous avons visité un magnifique monastère avec une architecture impressionnante et beaucoup de détails. On a vraiment été impressionnés et par la beauté du lieu.

Puis, direction l'école d'art équestre pour assister à un spectacle de chevaux. C'était élégant impressionnant et surtout très intéressant !

Vers 13h, pause déjeuner dans un parc avec un super temps : du soleil mais une petite fraicheur agréable. Parfait pour se détendre.

L'après midi, temps libre ! Certains se sont baladés, et d'autres (comme moi :) ) ont découvert LX Factory, un endroit très stylé. On a utilisé des trottinettes électriques pour se déplacer, ce qui était vraiment fun et pratique surtout !
On a aussi acheté quelques souvenirs.

Pour finir, on s'est retrouvés vers 16h avant de prendre le tramway pour rentrer à l'auberge, fatigués mais très contents de cette journée incroyable !

Bienvenue à Lisbonne !

Nous avons donc commencé la journée à 10h avec le petit déjeuner suivi d'un quartier libre où nous avons pu visiter les alentours de l'auberge mais surtout prendre nos repères. Après notre quartier libre, nous avons pu profiter de lunch box, ensuite nous sommes allés à la rencontre d'une classe de SECONDE de Dordogne avec laquelle nous avons bénéficié d'une visite guidée par Joâo (un portugais vivant a Lisbonne) . Cette visite s'est terminée à 16h après une virée approfondie dans le centre et un récit de l'histoire de Lisbonne, qui a commencé par Praça do Rossio (la Place de Rossio) où se situe l'actuel théâtre national , la place du marché qui est un "must-see" ,enfin nous sommes montés jusqu'au Vieux Lisbonne et le cadeau fut une visite bonus de l'Igreja de Santo Domingos . Après cette visite très enrichissante , nous avons pu avoir une après-midi shopping jusqu'à 19h30 , un dîner copieux , et un sommeil bien mérité après s'être baladés sur les pavés splendides mais douloureux de Lisbonne où nous y avons perdus nos pieds : comme quoi tout ce qui est beau n'est pas facile à atteindre ! Les collégiens de Matoury ont assisté à des cours de mathématiques et de français en classe de Seconde pour mieux cerner les attentes du lycée et percevoir les différences avec le collège. Ils se sont également rendus en classe de Première notamment dans les Spécialités HGGSP, Arts plastiques et Théâtre pour découvrir les spécificités de ces matières épanouissantes, enrichissantes et exigeantes. Après la pause méridienne, une enseignante de la CPGE Littéraire leur a présenté toutes les spécialités possibles au lycée Eboué ainsi que les filières post-bac comme la CPGE, les BTS et le DCG.
